'Weird Al' Yankovic Likely For First #1 on Billboard 200
Posted by Jeremy Thomas on 07.18.2014

"Weird Al" Yankovic is set to earn his first #1 album on the Billboard mainstream albums chart. Billboard reports that Mandatory Fun is set to give the master of parodies his highest sales week since Nielsen SoundScan started tracking sales in 1991 at over 80,000 copies sold. That would give him his first chart-topping album; his previous high was 2011's Alpocalypse at #9.

Likely coming in at #2 (and close on Al's heels) is Jason Mraz, whose Yes! will sell between 75,000 to 80,000. Other high debuts will be Rise Against's The Black Market (60,000 sold), Kidz Bop 26 (50,000), Bleachers' Strange Desire (18,000) and Marsha Ambrosius' Friends & Lovers (15,000).

The final chart will be released on Wednesday.
