Taylor Swift, Coldplay And Usher To Perform At 2014 iHeartRadio Music Festival
Posted by Joseph Lee on 07.23.2014

Billboard reports that the first performers for the main stage at the fourth annual iHeartRadio Music Festival have been revealed. The event takes place on September 19 and 20 at the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino. It includes Taylor Swift, Coldplay, Usher, Ariana Grande, Nicki Minaj, Motley Crue, Zac Brown Band, One Direction, Ed Sheeran, Paramore, Iggy Azalea, Train, Eric Church, Lorde, Calvin Harris, Bastille and Steve Aoki. Swift, Usher, Minaj and Harris are return performers and all have big releases coming in the fourth quarter.

Clear Channel national programming platform president Tom Poleman said: "We want to continue to deliver the goods for artists and help their development, and to see more great music to keep the radio industry healthy. It's great to have the diversity of genres this year, too. We have Motley Crue, which is obviously very different from Train, Eric Church, or Ariana Grande, but that's what makes it so special. You'll often have people on the side of the stage watching other bands. It's not unthinkable to see someone like Coldplay watching Zac Brown or One Direction because they're already on-set and they never get to see them play themselves."

The daytime iHeartRadio Music Festival Village will be back this year (the second year total) with performances from Neon Trees, Kacey Musgraves, Childish Gambino, MAGIC!, The Pretty Reckless, Nico & Vinz, Lil Jon and Iggy Azalea. Azalea will perform on the Village and MGM Grand stages.

Poleman added: "We always say the artists who perform at iHeartRadio are the biggest of the big, the leaders in every genre of music. And Iggy has really dominated the pop charts as of late. She's earned that spot."

Poleman also revealed that this year will have surprises just like previous years. In 2012, Prince joined Mary J. Blige on stage. In 2013, Ylvis arrived to perform "The Fox".

Poleman said: "There's a song that's gonna be the collaboration of the summer, that everybody's gonna be talking about, that could easily be a moment for us."

He could be referring to Jessie J's "Bang Bang" (featuring Grande and Minaj), which arrives on July 29. Ryan Seacrest will once again host. The festival was announced on all 840 Clear Channel radio stations, their web sites and the iHeartRadio app. Clear Channel will also host all-expense-paid trips to Vegas this summer.

Starting today at 4 PM ET, MasterCard holders will have access to a limited pre-sale at iHeartRadio.com/priceless. Tickets for the general public go on sale on Saturday at 1 PM ET on Ticketmaster.com. This year's sponsors include MasterCard, Pepsi, State Farm, Taco Bell, The CW, Jim Beam Bourbon, Matador Beef Jerky, Ideal Image, MGM Resorts International, Pennzoil Platinum with PurePlus Technology and wet n wild. Macy's will also sponsor and present the winner of the iHeartRadio Rising Star contest, Before You Exit, on the MGM Grand main stage.

The festival will broadcast live in 150 markets on all Clear Channel radio stations and it will stream live on Yahoo both nights at 7:30 PT. The CW will air a two-night prime-time special on September 29 and 30 from 8-10 with highlights from the festival. You can find more information here.
