Paul Gray's widow denied compensation...
A lawsuit filed by the widow of Slipknot bassist Paul Gray against Dr. Daniel Baldi over his alleged involvement in Gray's death has been dismissed. The Des Moines Register reports that an Iowa judge dismissed the suit, ruling that Brenna Gray waited too long to file suit. The judge agreed with the defense's assertion that the two-year statute of limitations began at the time that Gray died and not the day that Brenna found reason to believe that Baldi was responsible for her husband's passing.
Gray had accused Baldi in the lawsuit, filed in February, of failing to help Gray overcome his drug addiction and in fact contributed by prescribing Gray Xanax despite the fact that Baldi knew he had a history of abusing the drug. Gray passed in 2010 of an accidental morphine and fentanyl overdose.
Baldi was acquitted of seven involuntary manslaughter charges in May, including one in regard to Gray.
