But just for aerial shots of the celebrities' homes...
TMZ reports that the Los Angeles Police Department was right to worry that the paparazzi will start using drones to shoot celebrities and their homes, because it's happening now. Paparazzi company AKM-GSI's owner Steve Ginsburg has admitted that his agency shoots footage of celebrity homes and sells them. He added that his company was not getting actual footage of celebrities.
There is currently no law stopping him from getting aerial footage of the homes, even if celebrities are in the show. However, he said there would be "huge backlash" if any agency tried to sell the footage of celebrities. He said that a photographer tried to sell him a drone video of Miley Cyrus in her backyard but he wouldn't take it. Cyrus saw the drone and was upset. She shot footage of it and uploaded it to Instagram.
Ginsburg added: "We have the utmost respect for celebs and we stand by our word that we will not distribute any drone video capturing celebrities on public or private property."
