It's the 37th anniversary of his death...
The Associated Press (via Billboard) reports that a candlelight vigil was held at the grave of the late rock star, Elvis Presley, in Graceland on Friday (August 15). The event marked the 37th anniversary of his passing.
Fans quietly went through the Mediation Garden at Graceland, Presley's longtime home in Memphis, Tennessee. Presley, his mother, father, and grandmother are all buried there. The home is now a museum and tourist attraction. It draws about 500,000 every year.
The vigil is an annual celebration of Presley's career and life for Elvis Week. Presley died of a heart attack when he was 42 on August 16, 1977.
