Guardians of the Galaxy Soundtrack Still #1 On Billboard 200

The soundtrack for Guardians of the Galaxy is once again #1 on the Billboard 200, with 93,000 copies sold. Soundtracks have been on top for fifteen weeks this year, which is almost half of the year. Frozen had thirteen weeks on top earlier this year. The top three albums this week are all multi-artist sets, the first time this has happened since April 11, 2009. On that date, Now 30 debuted at #1, followed by the soundtracks to Hannah Montana: The Movie and Twilight.

1. Guardians of the Galaxy soundtrack (93,000)
2. Now 51 (52,000)
3. Frozen soundtrack (43,000)
4. The Gaslight Anthem - Get Hurt (33,000)
5. Troye Sivan - TRXYE (30,000)
6. Five Seconds of Summer - Five Seconds of Summer (27,000)
7. Sam Smith - In The Lonely Hour (26,000)
8. Godsmack - 1000HP (21,000)
9. Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers - Hypnotic Eye (20,000)
10. Luke Bryan - Crash My Party (19,000)

Album sales totaled 4.1 million copies, down 4% from last week (4.3 million) and down 19% from last year (5.1 million). Year-to-date album sales stand at 150.5 million, down 15 percent compared with the same total at this point last year (176.1 million).
