Mark David Chapman stays behind bars...
The man who killed John Lennon in December of 1980 has been denied parole for an eighth time. Billboard reports that Mark David Chapman, who pled guilty to second-degree murder in 1981 after shooting the former Beatle outside his apartment in Manhattan, was had a parole hearing on Wednesday and was turned down.
Chapman was sentenced to twenty years to life for the murder. Each time his parole has come up a heavy campaign has been organized to demonstrate against his release; Lennon's widow Yoko Ono has said she opposes Chapman's parole. He will next be eligible in 2016.
