M.I.A. Resolves Dispute With NFL Over Super Bowl Middle Finger

Yep, it was still going on...
It's been over two and a half years since M.I.A. flipped the bird during her performance at the halftime show at the 2012 Super Bowl and it's just now been resolved. THR reports that the singer has settled her battle with the NFL over the gesture, which the NFL was seeking $16.6 million in damages over.
The league had claimed that they wanted $15.1 million in payback for the public exposure that the singer received, and another $1.5 million in punitive damages--all of which would be donated to charity. M.I.A. defended herself and took shots at the NFL's claims of any sort of moral compass. The case went to arbitration after the FCC declined to take action against either the singer or the league.
Terms of the deal remain private, though M.I.A.'s attorney Howard King confirmed the settlement.
