Bacall changed movie history...
Morrissey has posted a new blog online where he takes on a popular controversial topic: Robin Williams' passing. The death of the comedy legend has been the subject of controversial essays from the likes of Henry Rollins and more and Morissey threw his own hat into that ring, lamenting the fact that Williams' death overshadowed the recent passings of screen legends Richard Attenborough, Lauren Bacall and Dora Bryan.
He further goes on to say that Bacall changed film history (which is true) though Williams did not (which is arguably untrue), saying, "So sad that (Bacall's) death was overshadowed by that of Robin Williams. It was Lauren, not Robin, who changed motion picture history. Yet modern media has an odd way of forgetting the more senior servers of the arts."
He also took some shots at reality shows The X Factor and Big Brother, saying, "However, in our X-factory society, it seems that anyone who has NOT appeared on Big Brother just isn't worth remembering by the British media ... alas."
