Beyonce's Father Says Divorce Drama, Solange/Jay Z Fight Were PR Stunts
Posted by Jeremy Thomas on 08.28.2014

According to Beyonce's father, there's no divorce drama between Beyonce and Jay Z. More to the point, Mathew Knowles claims that the two have been creating controversy--both the divorce rumors and the Solange Knowles/Jay Z elevator fight--in order to sell tickets for their "On the Run" tour. Knowles, who Beyonce fired as a manager a few years back and has had some bad blood with ever since, appeared on Houston's Roula and Ryan Show and claimed that the whole thing was a big publicity stunt.

"[They needed something to] ignite that tour," he said. "It's called a Jedi mind trick. A Jedi mind trick fools you a lot of the time. [Snaps fingers] All I know is everyone is talking about it. Ticket sales went up, Solange's album sales went up 200 percent..."

He noted that he wasn't Beyonce's manager anymore (which is why we should take what he says with a lot of salt), but that he is still Destiny's Child's manager and suggested they'd tour together in the next year or so. Check out the interview below:
