Updated Billboard Charts: Dixie Chicks Debut #1, Eminem Holds On Strong
Posted by Ashish on 09.05.2002

The Dixie Chicks new album, Home, debuted at #1 on the latest Billboard Charts with an impressive 780,000 copies sold. That is the 2nd best single week sales number this year (behind, of course, Eminem's The Eminem Show). The strong opening for the Chicks firmly establishes them as one of the most popular country acts in the world.

Meanwhile, Eminem holds on to the #2 spot with another 176,000 copies of The Eminem Show sold. Avril Lavigne's Let Go stayed tough at #3 with 150,000 copies sold.

Two new albums made strong debuts this week. Coldplay debuted at #5 with 141,000 copies of A Rush of Bloodto the Head sold. Rapper Eve entered the charts at #6 with 123,000 copies of Eve-olution sold.

The 2002 MTV Video Music Awards provided bumps for many albums, including Pink's Misunderstood, P.O.D.'s Satellite, The Vines' Highly Evolved, and The Hives' Veni Vidi Vicious.

THE TOP TEN:
1. Dixie Chicks Home
