Billboard Charts: Mariah Carey Can't Top Shania Twain

Shania Twain's Up! remains the #1 album in the country after selling another 317,000 copies to bring total sales to over 1.8 million copies sold.

Twain had just enough to get by Tim McGraw's Tim McGraw and the Dancehall Doctors which held on to the #2 spot.

Mariah Carey's latest album, Charmbracelet, debuted at #3 with 241,000 copies sold. The album is Carey's second biggest debut, with her best being 1999's Rainbow which opened to 322,000 copies sold.

Now That's What I Call Music! Vol. 11 stayed strong by finishing the week at #4 with 222,000 copies sold, followed by the soundtrack for 8 Mile at #5 selling another 220,000 copies.

Avril Lavigne jumped 3 spots back up to #6 with Let Go while Jennifer Lopez's This Is Me...Then falls to #7 with 171,000 copies sold.

2Pac's Better Dayz slipped 3 spots to #8, followed by the Dixie Chicks jumping 8 spots to #9 with Home. Faith Hill's Cry rounded out the top 10 with 132,000 copies sold.

OTHER NOTES:
- Elvis Presley's Elvis 30 #1 Hits continued to be a hot Christmas gift, holding on to the #11 spot.
- Ja Rule's The Last Temptation continued to fall fast, from #13 last week to #24 this week.
- Snoop Dogg's Paid Tha Cost To Be Tha Bo$$ fell from #12 to #28 in its second week.
