Weezer's New Album To Be Most Personal Yet
Posted by Ashish on 08.19.2003

Weezer's new album is expected to be their most personal yet. Producer Rick Rubin said the following of frontman Rivers Cuomo's writing on the new album:

"[He] is really getting to a very personal place with writing and it's, I think, deeper than he's ever gone."

Weezer's Pinkerton is considered their darkest and most mature album. As to whether the new release will be similar, Rubin said the following:

"It's hard to say. But, lyrically, I would say that since 'Pinkerton,' he's never really gone in that direction. And I know that from the beginning of this project, he was open to all those places that he hasn't gone since. And that was something he brought up."

Weezer is planning to officially start recording the new album by the end of summer or early fall.
