Eagles Working On New Album

Yeah, yeah, we've heard this before...
Guitarist Joe Walsh recently spoke to Billboard, claiming that the next Eagles studio album is being prepped for release in 2008. Walsh called the record, the band's first since 1979's The Long Run, "almost out" and said that all that needs done is mixing and vocal overdubs. The long awaited studio set has supposedly been in the works for over six years.
Walsh said that all four current Eagles lent to the album's songwriting, taking the record "in some really, really new, different directions. It's hard to compare to anything that I hear out there now." For his own compositions, Walsh was mindful to keep things entrenched in his signature rock 'n' roll. "I didn't want us to be too ballad-y here. We need some stuff we can play live, so I made sure there was that element in the record."
The Eagles took off 2007 to work on the album, but are planning an extensive tour for 2008.
