Disney Cancels First Night Of Machine Head Tour
Posted by Mitch Michaels on 09.07.2007

In an active of metal uncoolness, Walt Disney Properties pressured Live Nation into cancelling a House Of Blues performance by metal act Machine Head in Anaheim, California. The show, which was set for tonight (September 7th). Due to its close vicinity to Disney Land, House of Blues was told to put all upcoming metal shows under review due to "violent imagery, undesirable fans and inflammatory lyrics" (according to Machine Head's website). The band's show was then canceled with less than 48 hours notice. The concert was to be the first date on the band's Black Tyranny Tour.

Live Nation stepped in to help the band, though, moving the show to nearby Pomona at the Glasshouse. Ticket holders for the House of Blues show will be admitted. The Black Tyranny Tour also features Arch Enemy, Throwdown, and Sanctity.

Machine Head's most recent album is The Blackening, released in March of 2007 and a 411 staff favorite. The BT Tour is set to run through mid-October.
