Complete 2004 MTV Video Music Award Results
Posted by Ashish on 08.29.2004

The 2004 MTV Video Music Awards are history and the show proved to be another eventful show.

The night came off as a tribute to Jay-Z in many ways. Jigga took home four Moonmen (Best Rap Video; Best Direction; Best Editing; Best Cinematography) and was also given a video send-off for his retirement by Dave Chappelle.

OutKast was the other big winner at the show, winning four Moonmen including Video of the Year (their other wins were for Best Hip-Hop Video, Best Special Effects in a Video, and Best Art Direction in a Video).

The other multiple award winners were Usher and No Doubt.

The other major theme of the show was the upcoming Presidential Election. P. Diddy, Mase, OutKast, and others heavily encouraged the youth of America to vote in the election this year.

Highlight performances included Nelly & Christina Aguilera performing Tilt Ya Head Back; Alicia Keyes, Stevie Wonder, & Lenny Kravitz performing Higher Ground; and Usher, Ludacris, and Lil' Jon performing a variety of hits.
