KISS principle Gene Simmons has a sex tape out, and it's being promoted as co-starring a spokesmodel for an energy drink he endorses, Frank's. You can pay $9.95 to watch it online through a website, GenesSecret.com, or you can view it all month and get access to other adult movies by paying $29.95.
Simmons has a live-in girlfriend, ex-porn star Shannon Tweed, who is featured on his "Family Jewels" reality show. They have two children together, Nicholas, 19, and Sophie, 16. It isn't known if the sex tape is being used with his consent. The energy drink is credited for giving him stamina. Photos of the girl in the video, Elsa, are below.

Shannon Tweed isn't an ex-porn star. Get your facts straight. She has posed nude for Playboy and she is an actress, but not in adult films. And she absolutely deserves better than asshole $immon$

Poor Gene Simmons. Now that it's not profitable to release albums he is forced to whore himself out on tape to make ends meet. We should take up a collection. On a serious note, Shannon Tweed was never a "porn star", she only did softcore. It would be like calling John Cena a marine because he played one in a bad movie. Tweed has aged ridiculously well and to stray on her is insanity. Of course if he treated her better she wouldn't be there in the first place.

Last I looked, softcore porn is still porn and Playboy is still a porno mag. Just because it's not very good doesn't make it "not porn".

I was wrong on Stuff. I was thinking there was a spread eagle porno mag called that. Anyway, the point being that nudity does not equal pornography. If that is the case, then a movie with a nude woman in it is automatically a porno. Playboy does not put women in sexual situations. It's the sex that makes something a porn, not the nudity. And why the attitude?

You're wrong Mitch. Playboy is considered erotica which is defined differently than pornography. Just because a magazine features nudity does not make it porn.

Perhaps a more accurate descriptor would have been "Ex-Playboy model" or "B-movie queen" Shannon Tweed. The majority of people do not consider her a "porn star". This is 2008, not 1958. Man up brother and admit you were a little harsh on her.

OK, I will say that, IF Shannon Tweed had only posed in Playboy, I would be reluctant to call her a porn star, though Playboy does publish pornography. (It's not the sex that makes something pornography, it's the intent. It's why the statue of David isn't porn, but the Playmate Of The Monthy centerfold is.)
Still, Tweed was in a bunch of softcore porn movies, which I say makes her a porn star.
And I apologize for the attitude, Satan.
I wonder if I'm the first person to say that?

You are correct. No one ever apologizes to me. It ocurred to me that maybe we should not be debating the word "porn" but the word "star". Can anyone be a star if they are only featured on Skinamax?

In 2008 the term porn star is universally understood as someone who has sex with strangers on film for money. If Shannon Tweed had been doing that for a living then we could presume she puts no value on monogamy and her 20 year live-in boyfriend sleeping with someone else is no big deal to her. That's what this item first implied, and it's not true. I think there's a world of difference between pretending to do something (softcore) and actually doing it (hardcore). All signs are that Gene has a life we dream of and doesn't appreciate it. He better be careful, I've seen what Shannon Tweed can do when she's been Scorned (a movie of hers I highly recommend).

TO SETTLE THIS. Quote from dictionary.com...pornography is defined as obscene writings, drawings, photographs, or the like, esp. those having little or no artistic merit.
Over the years Playboy has been widely accepted as having artistic AND erotic value. Thus good friends, an apology for Ms. Tweed is MOST DEFINITELY in order.

Yeah, Shannon Tweed deserves better.. poor lady lives in a big ol house and gets to spend Simmons money, oh and let's not forget he is pretty straight forward about his other "conquests". I feel bad for the kids. Shannon made a choice to be with Gene but no kid should have to know that their father is a man-whore.

Shannon is a great actress not a porn star. She is just well known for her roles in erotic thrillers and 'b' movies but IT'S NOT PORN. Person who wrote that is stupid or just jerk.
