Billboard Charts: Jack Johnson Remains At #1
Posted by Mitch Michaels on 02.20.2008

Jack Johnson's Sleep Through The Static notched another week at #1, moving 182,000 copies in its second week. That's only half of what the CD moved last week, but enough to keep it at the top of the heap.

Amy Winehouse benefits from a high profile performance (and five wins) at last week's Grammy Awards, as her Back To Black jumps an amazing 22 spaces to grab the #2 spot. The set had previously peaked at #6. Back To Black is nearing its 50th week on the Billboard 200.

Former #1 Alicia Keys holds on to #3, thanks to a 36% sales increase. The 2008 Grammy Nominees compilation rebounded to #4, up a notch from last week.

Herbie Hancock's River: The Joni Mitchell Letters, winner of this year's Album Of The Year Grammy, jumped from #159 to #5 this week, seeing its sales increase nearly tenfold.

Elsewhere in the Top 10, Juno, the soundtrack to one of this year's Academy Award nominated movies, remains at #6, while Taylor Swift continues to hang around the Top 10, moving from #10 to #7 in its 69th week. Huh huh.

Sheryl Crow's Detours falls from #2 to #8 in its second week, while former chart topper Mary J. Blige sees her Growing Pains disc drop two notches to #9. The Step Up 2 The Streets soundtrack breaks into the Top 10 in its second week, hopping from #13 to #10.
