Amy Winehouse Vows No More Drugs
Posted by Mitch Michaels on 03.27.2008

Amy Winehouse has vowed to quit drugs following the sudden death of singer Corinne Bailey Rae's husband.

Winehouse has been shocked into seeking help after her saxophonist friend Jason Rae - who was once a backing musician for Amy with his band The Haggis Horns - was discovered dead from a suspected drugs overdose on Saturday.

According to a friend: "Amy sacked Jason because he was so out of it and now it's her own life that has spun out of control. The scenario is no different. Amy takes the same substances with which Jason plied himself. She says she can't believe this happened and that she is still alive - and she can't let this be her future. She sees it as a wake-up call that she must stop."

Wow, so she's vowed to kick her habit. That must mean she really really means it this time...

lets hope she's serious about cleaning herself up. my main concern is the withdrawl period which can be even more dangerous. my suggestion is for her to get into some kind of program and stick with it. she's so ridiculously talented. i wish her the best.

I hope she means it, because she is a talented singer. It's just a shame it took someone to die for her to seek help. Somebody please put a bag over her head. She cool to listen to just not to look at.
