Disturbed debut at #1 on the Billboard charts this week with their new album Indestructible. The set moved 252,000 copies, which is more than their last album, 2005's Ten Thousand Fists (239k), but less than their previous, 2002's Believe (284k). All three of those album debuted at #1, making Disturbed only the 7th rock act in history to score three consecutive #1 debuts for studio albums. (VH, U2, Metallica, DMB, SOAD & Staind, if you're wondering). Indestructible was led by the #1 Rock hit "Inside The Fire".
Now That's What I Call Music! 28 debuts at #2 this week, moving 185,000 units. The set features recent hits by Chris Brown, Flyleaf and others, including the #1 singles "Lollipop" by Lil' Wayne and "Bleeding Love" by Leona Lewis.
Last week's #1, Usher's Here I Stand, falls to #3 this week, dropping two-thirds of its sales but still maintaining an impressive 145,000 copies moved.
Weezer's new self-titled CD, aka "The Red Album", debuts at #4 this week after shifting 126,000 units. Weezer was led by the current #1 Rock single "Pork And Beans". The set follows 2005's Make Believe, which topped out at a career-best #2.
Journey returns to the Top 10 with Revelation, which debuts at #5 this week after selling 105,000 copies. The Wal*Mart exclusive set marks the band's best sales week in twelve years. Revelation is the band's first album with lead singer Arnel Pineda, who replaced Steve Perry.
Ashanti debuts at #6 this week with The Declaration, her fourth studio album. Declaration bests Ashanti's last album in chart position: Concrete Rose hit #7 just before Christmas of 2004. Her first two albums were both #1 hits. The lead single, "The Way That I Love You", was a Top 40 hit this spring.
The Sex In The City soundtrack drops five spots to #7 this week.
Jewel debuts at #8 with Perfectly Clear, her first set to also appear on the Country charts, where it reached #1. Jewel currently appears as a judge on the NBC reality show "Nashville Star". She'll be touring with country star Brad Paisley this summer.
Former #1 3 Doors Down slips from #3 to #9 in its third week, while Chris Brown's Exclusive comes roaring back into the Top 10, jumping 46 places to #10. The album was reissued recently as the "Forever Edition" and now includes the Top 10 single "Forever".
