Coldplay On Track For A #1 Debut
Posted by Mitch Michaels on 06.19.2008
They've already topped the UK charts and they're looking to nail the US...
On the heels of Lil Wayne's 1 million-plus debut sales week with Tha Carter III , it looks like Coldplay's Viva La Vida will post similarly high numbers for a #1 debut next week.
The set experienced first-day sales of 316,000 copies through the close of business Tuesday. In comparison, Wayne's new CD posted over 410,000 on his first day.
A source close to the new album expects Viva La Vida to finish the week with a number in neighborhood of 700,000 to 750,000.
