Mark Ronson Pissed About Negative Glastonbury Review
Posted by Mitch Michaels on 07.08.2008
So mad he went to his MySpace...
Mark Ronson has hit out at British music magazine NME, who posted a poor review for Ronson's Glastonbury performance. Ronson was infuriated after he received an email from a reporter at the publication denying responsibility for a scathing review of his set at the festival.
He has posted the reporter's email on his website and is now vowing to sell his recent NME award on the internet.
He writes on his MySpace, "I got the following email from a journalist at the NME in reference to what I imagine was a scathing review of my Glasto performance (if only I read the mag, I might know what it said….oh well). My NME award for 2008's best international solo artist will be on eBay as soon as the morons send it to me. I doubt the bidding will go that high and it makes an excellent doorstop."
Why is it that in today's music climate, NO ONE can take a negative review?
Just because you play a festival or have a CD out does not mean that everyone has to kiss your ass 24/7.
Ronson should go hang with Kanye "Cry Baby" West. I just lost a lot of respect for this man.

Who?
Seriously, for someone no one ever heard of he should be thankful for any publicity at all.

The bloke is like shit in a field in the Uk and I have no idea why. All he seems to do are feeble remixes/covers of already brilliant songs with guest vocalists. He doesn't sing, he doesn't write, he doesn't play anthing. Truthfully, I'm struggling to work out why he has a career at all....

I'm all for blogging what's on your mind; but seriously, dude, grow some thicker skin or else find another industry.

Mark Ronson, for those who don't know of him, is a Grammy winning producer. He did Lily Allen's album, about half of Amy Winehouse's, some of Robbie Williams', and I think he worked on the last Christina Aguilera album. That's besides his own hit album Version which featured one of the biggest selling UK hits of the last year, a cover of the Zutons "Valerie" featuring Winehouse on vocals.
Secondly, NME are elitist hipster morons. If it's not the Artic Monkey's or some other "punk" rock b.s. NME doesn't like it. It's like Pitchfork, except 10x worse because none of the reviewers know anything. I think Ronson's mistake was actually accepting an NME award in the first place. I would consider and NME award an insult.

Even worse than the fact that he can't handle the negativity is the fact that he actually admits HE HASN'T ACTUALLY READ THE REVIEW!!! So not only is he thin-skinned, but he's thin-skinned about something he hasn't actually read. Just beautiful.
