Nickelback Signs a "360" Deal With Live Nation
Posted by Dan Marsicano on 07.08.2008

As was rumored a week ago, rock band Nickelback has signed a global partnership, or a "360" deal, with Live Nation.

The deal is reported to be between $50 and $70 million dollars. Payments are set to roll out over time as the band performs. Rather than a time frame, a Live Nation statement says the deal "contemplates" all areas of Nickelback's global music enterprises, including three touring and album cycles, with an option for a fourth.

"Our relationship with everyone at Roadrunner Records has been amazing throughout our career and we look forward to continuing that same great relationship for the remainder of our recording commitment with them," said Nickelback's Chad Kroeger in a statement. "With that said, the Live Nation deal helps us maximize the band's opportunities in all areas of our career."

Nickelback is the fourth big act signed to Live Nation, alongside Jay Z, Shakira, and Madonna.

I'm okay with Nickelback. If their lead singer impresses Santana (a Guitar god and musical genius) enough to record a song with, Who am I to judge their musical ability?

Away Away Away Away, and the voices rang like the angels sing, and we say A Away Away Away, and we Danced on Into the night.

I love that song!
