Neil Diamond Offering Concert Refunds
Posted by Mitch Michaels on 08.27.2008

Disappointed Neil Diamond fans will get a refund after attending a concert at Ohio State University in which the 67-year-old singer's voice sounded raspy.

Some fans left the Monday concert early and others said Diamond completed the concert without mentioning anything to the audience about his voice.

A statement from Diamond on Tuesday says a doctor has diagnosed acute laryngitis. Diamond spokeswoman Eve Samuels says the singer is offering a refund to those who place a request before September 5th. "I haven't let you down before and I won't let you down now," the singer said in an apology on his website.

Neil went on to reschedule two more shows.

Full refund AND rescheduled dates?
I'm no fan, but Neil sure set the bar pretty high for rock star magnanimity.

Now this guy has class and respect for his fans.

All other stars are now held to a higher standard.

Finding a performer with that level of respect for his fans is a rarity, if not an impossibility these days. My kudos to you, Mr. Diamond.

I'll be what I am...a solitary man.

Amen, Neil, way to go.

Neil really cares about his fans and this shows he does. He goes out there normally and without an intermission or starting band gives a 2 hour show. He even risk his career to not dissapoint his fans this night. So they will not be dissapointed, he is giving a refund? What a guy! Thank you Neil! You are the very best there is.
