Kid Rock Calls Amy Winehouse An Inspiration
Posted by Mitch Michaels on 09.04.2008

Kid Rock has found inspiration in an odd place... through Amy Winehouse's music. Kid says her sound is making him bring out his old Motown records again and believes it will inspire future music.

"The only thing I've been listening to lately is Amy Winehouse. She's got me into all that old school soul thang. Her album is so great, it's made me go through all my old Stax and Motown records again. I'd really like to add a little of that flavor to my music."

"Hip-hop's turned into bad pop music. People don't believe in half of the current rappers and especially don't believe in what they have to say. No one's really a killer or a gangsta. That's why I'm singing more."

Both are terrible, so it only makes sense.

Kid Rock is one of the only true artists in music today. It would sound dope. I'm gone go see him and Rehab this month. That's a show that shouldn't be missed.

Perhaps Kid is angling for a collaboration.

Interesting..

I dont really like Kid Rock's music, but he always says really sensible shit. Rap certainly is bad pop music today, and if half of the people who waste their time hating and wishing death upon Amy Winehouse would actually bother to listen to her album, they would see that it really is beautiful music in the old-school Motown mold. She is a fucking mess, no doubt, but she is talented as hell. It makes her personal decline even more fucked up than it would be otherwise.

Kid Rock is far from a true artist. I see why he like Amy Winehouse though
she has a beautiful voice, too bad she is a forever relapsing crackhead.

"Hip-hop's turned into bad pop music" is one of the truest statements I've heard in a long time. Good on you, Rock.

Kid Rock is a joke and has alot to do with what is wrong with the music industry today. How many of his "songs" have samples of popular songs that were written by other artists? Changing the lyrics to songs that have already been a hit does not make you a musician. Oh and enough with his southern rock fake identity. This is a guy who grew up in Detroit and was a DJ/wanna be rapper.

You people are lost. Kid is no joke. Lil Wayne is a joke. Kanye west is a joke. He samples more than anybody and just makes it sound like shit. We got fake ass gangstas and 16 year old kids who make a stupid song on myspace saying they are hip-hop artists. Kid Rock been doin his thing. You people have no idea who he used to run with. Dude is fire behind da turntables. So he does southern rock now. It’s not as good as his old shit but who cares? I bet he can still rap circles around anybody on todays hiphop charts.

Old school Kid Rock was some of the BEST mixing of genres Ive EVER heard. If Amy's MUSIC can help inspire Bob...then more power to him. I still dig Amy Winehouse's music, regardless of her behaviour. Good music is just good music.

J-Weezy needs to be shot. Kid rock is rubbish. Please tell me one thing that man does that in any way shape or form is worth wild? His melodies are bogus or lifted. His beats are sampled. Everything about it is worthless just like 95% of hip hop and rock n roll today. Music is in a bad state right now, with the exception of the new kids on the block reunion haha

I need to be shot? LOL Are you the bitch ass nigga who gonna try? Don't think so. I hate pussy ass fools who try and bang on the internet. Grow up sucka.
I agree about today's hip-hop, but Kid is ill. You need to go back and listen to his old shit. I already said his new shit aint as good, but I've heard way crappier music on the radio.
