Scars On Broadway Cancel Tour
Posted by Daniel Wilcox on 10.06.2008

Scars On Broadway has announced that they will be cancelling all tour dates aswell as their appearance on the Jimmy Kemmel show with no plans to reschedule. Apparantly, the reason given is that singer/guitarist Daron Malakian doesn't feel that his heart is into touring at the present time.

Scars On Broadway sold just under 24,000 copies of their self-titled debut album this year and features System Of A Down members Daron Malakian and John Dolmayan.

After selling 24,000 copies of their album, I would cancel all shows and Jimmy Kimmel too. How pathectic!

It would appear that all the fame and recognition is going to Daron's head, it's a real shame, I was hoping that the image they portrayed on their last 2 albums was tongue-in-cheek. Apparently they (he at least) turned into whiny rock stars.

Maybe Daron will finally realize that he isn't a frontman (or a good singer) and stay in the background. He can play a guitar so he should stick with that!
GO SERJ!

Too bad, they should tour with Nickelback for the "We suck tour".

Daron is whiny, and a rock star, but not a rock SUPER star. He has a lot to learn musically as far as writing. The minute and a half long intro on Babylon? Self indulgent, repetitive, and annoying. An otherwise FANTASTIC song is ruined.

I like the album. I really do. At it's high points. The low points are repetitive, repetitive, repetitive. He could have written different verses, but chooses to repeat the same one over and over and over and over.

Tired of my repetitive writing style yet? I use correct spelling and punctuation and am technically wonderful, but it's boring. Much like much of SOBs debut album.

Best tracks: Exploding/Reloading, Chemicals, Universe, Serious, most of Babylon. BRING BACK SYSTEM OF A DOWN

wow you guys are all assholes

daron is one of the most talented people alive. "He has a lot to learn musically as far as writing." what the hell. you know he wrote almost every song for system right? it's people like you that can't realize greatness that music today is as crappy as it is. When someone comes out with great music it is overlooked by the general public consisting of the idiots like you who can't recognize talent. i am ashamed of all of you.

All of u suck, I don't c u out there droppin albums and beinf nominated for best new rock band oh wait a minute cause u have no talent! Daron and Serj r both talented and Daron did write most of SOAD's songs tards. So Y don't u cut him sum slack and realize that obviously he isn't feeling well and he has his reasons for canceling. U call yourself a fan then y can't u just support him and stop trashing him. He is still the best guitar player in the world and he has been reconized as one of the fastest guitar players in the world and whoever says he can't sing is an idiot. That boy has got sum pipes on him so F**k all of u who trash him ur not true fans abd I bet u wouldn't last 1 day doinf what they do! So, rock on Daron and handle ur biz I still be here waiting for u and ur next album!!

They wern't coming to my town so i didn't get screwed by this. Daron may have his reasons, but the one he gave seems a little flimsy. Though i guess its for the best because if your on tour for 4 months and you don't really want to do it, it shows up in your performances and the fans get pissed. Honestly, I think Daron is more interested in smoking up than touring. SOB has great music, but I think Daron and John would do better if they went back to SOAD.

iggy pop has had a bum leg for years and that never stopped him from rocking like a mother...these new bands don't have the stamina...they are spoiled babies...getting way too much too soon...they don't bang their brains out for years like neil young...or the ramones did...as far as his heart isn't into it...well he should suck it up get over himself... respect and appricate the fans that did buy the album and tix...and all of the folks that went along for the ride...rodies...the rest of the band..etc..too big for the britches...ego trippin for sure.. okay the album isn't a masterpiece..better luck next one..but hey it's all trial and error right...finding your new self and band....there's a few good songs...lots of derivitives...(and sounds like comparisons)...uninspiring lyrics for the most part..accolades for trying to branch out and be creative and not stuck in the same time warp of style....
best cuts...whore street...enemy
chemicals..exploding/reloading
...stoner hate...3005...CUTE MACHINES...is brilliant...honorable mentions...they say...universe
...serious....babylon...com'on take a tip from willie nelson..be humble grateful...a real musician...play for the love not for the greed...or for who likes what...play for yourself...thats what nick cave does..he isn't worried about whose gonna like it or buy it......do you think paul mccartney's heart was in it when his wife died...no...but he pulled through with his music...patti smith now there was a woman with strength after 3 tragedies within a short time span...music was a catharsis for her...so it seemed..and she put out masterpieces!!!!
oh and treat your band members like members...poor john really got the shaft...so did all of us who spent $$ on plane tix..DRAG of DRAGS!!! being a musician myself...have had friends get major surgery...and other unfortunate things happen...they managed to get back on stage as soon as they could..because a true musicians heart is always in it no matter what..and the music and the musicians are what pull ya through!!! gogol bordello had a major tragedy this year...they cancelled and rightly so...then re-scheduled...what about what just happened to travis barker...now there would be a reason to cancel a tour...recording...gig...rehearsal...go on sabatical and then some...he is an amazing guy...my heart goes out to him...
back to making art and music
sometimes doing it for the love...no attchments to money is the way to go!!! HEY HO!!!
