New Green Day Is On The Way
Posted by Ben Czajkowski on 10.07.2008

According to Green Day's fan site "Green Day Authority", Green Day has selected producer Butch Vig to helm the recording of their next full-length. Vig is the drummer for the band Garbage. The Vig rumor comes from an interview with Carson Daly, in which Shirley Manson spills the beans.

If you do not incude 2000's Warning, Vig is the first producer other than Rob Cavallo that has worked with Green Day since 1992's Kerplunk!, which was recorded with punk producer Andy Ernst.

Green Day last released the Grammy-winning American Idiot in 2004. A 2009 release would mean that the gap between each subsequent full-length since 1994's Dookie has once again increased by a single year.

The as-yet-untitled album is due out next year.

Don't give a damn.

They're just a bunch of whiny overgrown teenagers who sing weak superficial songs.

YAY!!! Can't wait. And they don't sing superficial songs! They are one of the more realistic bands. Dayymmm I can't wait for it. But no Rob Covallo? Hmm.. that's strange...it better not suck...

Davis, why would you say they're whiny? Or weak? Or superifical? They're better than Fallout Boy (ew) or My Chemical Romance (double ew) They are practically the inventors of pop-punk. And they rock.

They aren't superifical!!!!
