Drummer Josh Freese To Leave Nine Inch Nails
Posted by Dan Marsicano on 10.09.2008

Frontman Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails has announced that drummer Josh Freese will leave the band after the upcoming North American tour is done.

In a posting on the official Nine Inch Nails web site, Reznor said, "Josh Freese fans, be sure to check out a show on the upcoming North American leg of the tour, as sadly they will be the last ones he's playing with us. He informed me he's leaving the tour at the end of this year. Yes, we are still dear friends. No, I'm not sure what we are going to do."

The industrial band just recently completed a tour in South America and Mexico. The North American tour will start on October 23 in San Antonio, Texas.

That sucks. Freese was only around for the last three years of NIN, but he was so goddamn good that it's hard to picture anyone else behind the kit.

Let me be the first to throw out a name for a replacement ... Brian Viglione of the Dresden Dolls.

They're said to be taking a break after the release of No, Virginia so that Amanda can finish her solo cd.

Trent has often said he adores the Dresden Dolls, having them open up a few tours ago.

Brian played drums on a few tracks off Ghost.
