Dave Grohl Gets Street Named After Him
Posted by Daniel Wilcox on 10.13.2008
I guess they'll name streets after anyone these days...
Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl is to have a Ohio street named after him.
The frontman - whose middle name is Eric - was born in Warren City on January 14, 1969.
The city council are set to rename Market Alley to David Grohl Alley in a special ceremony, after a campaign led by local radio DJ Fast Eddie and police officer Sgt. Joe O' Grady.

Thats a lil harsh

You're an idiot, Wilcox. The man is a genius. What are you going to have named after you?

"I guess they'll name streets after anyone these days.."
It's been said, but let me reiterate: I doubt you'll ever have anything named after you, Wilcox, so shut the fuck up.

I actually went and picked up a shemale hooker on Daniel Wilcox Lixcox Lane the other day.

I shouldn't have to defend myself here but whatever. As far as I'm concerned, you should have to do something revolutionary or inspiring to have such an honor bestowed upon you. Grohl and his music come under neither, from where I sit. And that's not me saying I dislike the Foos or any of his other projects.

Daniel, by your own standards to street naming "something revolutionary or inspiring to have such an honor bestowed upon you". I have to say that while you may not find his music inspiring, others might. Here in Texas, in Arlington, there's a street named Nolan Ryan Expressway. He didn't do anything revolutionary, but I bet he is an inspiration to many. I'm sure many people feel that way about Dave Grohl.

I'm cool with this. Grohl is probably one of the best artists currently and you really don't hear him getting in trouble or being a jerk. So, he deserves it.

Dave Grohl is one of the greatest rock artists of the last 20 years and he inspires me and many people I know ever day. He constantly does charity and free shows, and he more than deserves his own street.

Chris Benoit didn't do anything revolutionary to get a day named after him. Well, besides the whole murderous rampage thing, but this was before that.

LOL, having a street named after you is "such an honor"? You make it sound like royalty. You don't get out often, do you Wilcox?

Personally i believe Dave Grohl should have done the world a favor, when Cobain blew his head off, he should have done the same. Foo Fighters are is one of the most overrated bands ever.

there's thousands and thousands of streets in every state, you don't have to be 'revolutionary' or 'inspiring', it's not that big a deal...
