Led Zeppelin Bassist John Paul Jones Talks About Plans To Hit The Road
Posted by Dan Marsicano on 10.27.2008

This past weekend, at Mansons Guitar Show in Exeter, Devon, UK, Led Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones basically confirmed a future tour for Led Zeppelin.

While singer Robert Plant has no plans to join the band at the present time, a new frontman may be used for the time being.

"I'm afraid, there's no final answer yet. As you probably know, Jimmy, Jason and I are actually rehearsing and we've had the odd singer come in and have a bash. As soon as we know — which we don't — we will let you know. But we really hope that something is going to happen soon because we really want to do it and we're having a lot of fun, actually, just rehearsing. Jason is actually tremendous. . . We really wanna do something and Robert doesn't want to do this, at least for the moment. I don't really know what his plans are. He really doesn't want to make loud music anymore. We do. I mean, I love acoustic music, but it doesn't stop me from turning something up . . . And what we've done so far sounds absolutely fantastic. When it does come, it will come, and you'll know about it," said Jones.

Zep isn't Zep w/o Plant. It's just going to be a glorified cover band.

Tom, you misspelled "glorious"

It won't be Zep even with Robert. He's good but not a shade on Plant of yesteryear. Anyway Robert Plant isnt interested so that shouln't hold back the others. They can call themselves the 3 Stooges for all I care. As long they play well I'd be happy to see a show.

Well, I think they have a right to call themselves Led Zeplin. Hope they come to Nepal. Ha ha. High hopes.

Have they thought of Lenny Wolf to cover for Plant?

Why not just have the guy who sings for ZoSo (Zep tribute band) take over? Guy looks and sounds dead on anyway.
