Another Day, Another Zeppelin Rumor
Posted by Daniel Wilcox on 10.27.2008

The longer Robert Plant holds out on getting back together with the other three members of Led Zeppelin, the more rumors of a new frontman will circulate.

In recent weeks, numerous names have been thrown into the hat to front the band should they chose to put out new material and tour in 2009. Most recently, Alter Bridge's Myles Kennedy and The White Stripes' Jack White have been rumored to be in line for the slot, though the Jack White rumor has since been squashed.

And now, according to reports coming out of the UK, Aerosmith's Steven Tyler has been jamming with the band. Now the comeback looks to be a step closer to reality, with reports suggesting Tyler has taken over vocal duties during practice sessions in London.

Well considering that Tyler is really the US version of Plant this could be cool.

I'd like to see exactly how they have the other three members lined up, as Bonham has been dead almost 30 years.

White + Zep or Kennedy + Zep = win.

How to tarnish your reputation in 3 easy steps.

Lets just through out any air of respectability and have the search for a new singer be a reality show

Can you imagine the ratings on Rockstar:Zeppelin?
or Celebrity Rockstar:Zeppelin?

I'm voting for David Coverdale, that would really piss off Robert Plant.

Steven Tyler is the absolute best replacement if there has to be one. Myles Kennedy will be forgotten in 10 years, and though i enjoy Jack Whites music, he isnt the vocal talent that Zep is used to.

First off, Zep has earned the right to do whatever the hell they want. Second, no one called Pink Floyd a glorified cover band when Waters left. The band can go on without the singer. (And, yes, I know that Waters wasn't the primary singer, but he was the main visionary of the band after Dark Side). Finally, Tyler would be an amazing choice for a replacement. I'd get tix.

Whoever said they would call their new band Led Zeppelin?

Steven Tyler would be an ideal choice. Think he's still working on Aerosmith stuff though.

Really and truly the only person who could pull this off the best would be Dave Grohl. He's the smartest man in rock and roll and he's already jammed with Zep this year...not to mention he worships the band. Vocally, probably not the best choice, but for the spirit of Plant and the music, Grohl is the best choice.

Chris Robinson of The Black Crowes would be the best choice! I just thought of that.
