Prince Bashes Gay Marriage?
Posted by Dan Marsicano on 11.20.2008

In an interview with The New Yorker, Prince commented that he believes that gay marriage is not "right."

The singer told The New Yorker that he disagreed with a liberal "Democrat" view of life, pointing to gay marriage as something condoned by the party that he disagreed with because it clashed with the teachings of the Bible.

"God came to Earth and saw people sticking it wherever and doing it with whatever, and he just cleared it all out," he said. "He was, like, 'Enough.'

"[In the USA] you've got the Republicans, basically they want to live according to [the Bible]. But there's the problem of interpretation, and you've got some churches, some people, basically doing things and saying it comes from here, but it doesn't.

"And then on the opposite end of the spectrum you've got blue, you've got the Democrats, and they're, like, 'You can do whatever you want.' Gay marriage, whatever. But neither of them is right."

However, celebrity gossip blog Perezhilton.com refuted the quotes, speaking to a "Prince insider" who called into question the credibility of the interview.

The New Yorker is standing by the piece.

it is now proven, people who look and sound gay are the biggest homophobes!

Let's ask Prince how god feels when Prince humps the floor and then makes Charlie Murphy pancakes.

Prince is gay though, right?

of course prince is against gay marriage. i think he is actually against ALL marriage. this guy has seen more poon than a tampon. how many times has he been married?

Soooooo... where does he bash it? He's clearly against it and I applaud him standing up for his beliefs. It's harder for him to do this because most celebrities believe just the opposite he does.

Prove the bible's correct, and we might listen.

Although PRINCE having an issue with anything vaguely homosexual is hilarious. The guy just seems mind bogglingly gay, despite all evidence.

This inane mindfuck by Prince is easily explained.

I assume he means Sodom and Gomorrah. But you can argue that it wasn't homosexual acts being condemned, per se, but rather the fact that sex was out of control, gang rape was a part of the culture, etc.

Maybe it's just me, but I think The New Yorker has better sources and better fact checking than Perez.

"Soooooo... where does he bash it?"

Don't you know that you can imply whatever you want in news or "news" by putting a question mark at the end?

Like if I said "George W. Bush is the New Satan?"

I'm not saying he is the new Lucifer, I just asked a question. Sneaky journalism at its finest.

God made Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve. Shit, that line is still funny to me after all these years.

Prove that the Bible isn't correct. People always got something to say but never backs it up. The Bible has been around for thousands of years. Thats a FACT.

If the man has changed his ways and wants to stand up for what he believes in, let him. Its courageous. Perez Hilton don't know jack.

Is Prince right?I think on these points I strongly agree with the gentleman.
Neither Democrats nor Republicans represent God.Neither do church organisations.God represents Himself and the Bible portrays Him and His attributes. It describes his precepts and ordinances and only those that really live by these precepts will make it to paradise. It's immaterial whether one says he goes to church or not.

This is going to really hurt his image, because I'm sure Prince has (I mean, had) many Gay fans.
