Nine Inch Nails Scraps Plans For 3-D Film
Posted by Dan Marsicano on 12.04.2008

According to a recent post on Nine Inch Nails (NIN) web-site, the 3-D tour film has been scrapped.

The film would have used the same technology director James Cameron uses. Various issues made the film impossible to complete, and while frontman Trent Reznor hasn't outright said it, the band's former record label, Interscope, may be to blame.

Reznor commented that, "We then achieved the impossible by finding alternate production / funding but the timetable is too rushed to get it filmed comfortably with the remaining time left on the tour," which ends Dec. 13 in Las Vegas.

That said, Reznor claims the tour was "certainly the best thing I've ever been involved with and likely the final tour for NIN on this scale." However, Reznor said that "the shows we have announced in 2009 and any more that may be announced will be a completely different approach with some different personnel and will likely be the last for the foreseeable future."

that's good news.

NIN has sucked for the last 2 albums, so we don't need more crap from them.

^Regardless of whether or not you liked the last few albums, go check out some youtube clips from this tour and STFU.

What I want to know is if it's only the 3D thing that's cancelled or if there will be no forthcoming tour DVD at all. A goddamned crying shame if it's the latter.

NIN rules! I'm pretty sure that if this project were able to be completed, NIN's concert film would've been amazing. NIN's music continues to kick ass and forget names!

I have been a fan of nin for years, but not necessarily their new material, really just "The Slip" I have the biggest issue with.

However, I saw them a few weeks ago and holy mother of shitballs did they put on a great show. The best visual show I have ever been to, not to mention one hell of a rock show, oeverall.

Yeah, Reznor played the majority of the set from "Slipt", but did play to the crowd with some favorites here and there. I'm just glad they played "March Of The Pigs" and "Gave Up".

I saw nails during the second show of their first leg tour for "The Downward Spiral", the best show I have ever seen.
