Kanye West Throws Tantrum At Sydney Show
Posted by Ashish on 12.08.2008

Kanye West went off on a rant during his show in Sydney last night before storming off stage. Here is celebritytruth.com's report of the incident.
'Kanye West surprised fans by re-starting his hit song 'Love Lockdown' four times during his Sydney concert Saturday night (December 6) - after a bizarre rant during which he sympathized with Britney Spears, saying that she was driven to a mental breakdown by the media. The Celebrity Truth was there, and has the details after the jump'.

'West's set started strong, but during a breakdown in the show, the rapper spoke to the audience in a sing-song tone about the pressures of being a celebrity. He complained that the media had stripped him of a 'real' life, and spoke of Spears and her marriage to Kevin Federline, saying that the reason she 'spazzed out' was because Federline took advantage of her'.

'After performing an electric - albeit occassionally self-indulgent - set, which had the crowd on their feet for most of the show, West's ego took centre stage when it came to the finale'.

'After a ten-minute performance of 'Heartless', West disappeared from the stage for several moments, and then reappeared, and began singing 'Love Lockdown''.

'Thirty seconds in, he abruptly ended the song, walked off stage, and instructed his band to start again. The music recommenced and when West reached the chorus, he again stopped the song and left the stage'.

'His confused band started the song a third time, and West began singing, before again killing the song and storming off stage. At this point West walked back on and announced, 'I'm supposed to have another f*cking outfit for this song, but they've taken it back to the dressing room. Let's just do it'.'

'West, who has had a difficult year during which his mother died and he broke up with his fiance, then performed the full song, before walking off stage and shouting, 'Goodbye Sydney'. House lights went up, and bemused fans were left wondering whether his stylist still had a job?!'

Another Outfit? STFU YOU PANSY!

Real musicians don't need more than one fucking outfit.

God, what a pretentious asshole. I hope he dies just like his mother.

i think kanye is a musical genius. however, i think the celebrity has gone to his head. if he is not careful he could find himself in a britney spears type limbo.

he really needs to sit down and talk to jay-z, beyonce, john mayer or any of his famous friends. he needs a celeb intervention badly.

Such a waste of talent. Just like Winehouse.

I don't hope that he dies but a little attitude adjustment might be nice.

How it is possible to be so talented and dunder-headed at the same time?

He's just pissed after being HUMBLED by Stephen Colbert

Posted By: john (Guest)  on December 08, 2008 at 03:49 PM

Colbert's war on Kanye is amazing. I actually think coming on the show and showing some humility would be a good thing for Kanye's image right now. Unfortunately I don't see it happening.

Glad to see things falling apart for this tool bag. Maybe all this bad luck wil make him humble.... if not we can always get the iron sheik to humble him instead.

i think kanya thinks he has SOME talent, theres hundreds underground that are better. also, he is a pretentious loser who thinks he is jesus christ. perhaps we should go all barabbas on him...

So true, lyrically it's obvious listening to College Dropout and then listening to Graduation.

I agree with Dude 100%. And how exactly is he a musical genius? Does he sing? Does he play an instrument? This is a guy who wouldn't know the difference between an A chord and his A-hole. He is an "entertainer" and nothing more.

What a pretenious faggot.

So, he "had the crowd on their feet for most of the show"?

Must have been a shitty show if they sat down at all.

It is really hard being his fan. I just try to listen to the music, even though 808's isn't that great.

No, he just happens to be the best producer in the music industry and one of the most successful artist out there.

Not really he just bitches alot. He's not smoking crack and not focusing on the music. He's just whiny (momma's boy maybe?)

While I enjoy his music (808s is okay at best) I really can't stand his divatude.

HAHAHAHAHAH What a little bitch. So it seems that Stephen Colbert wasnt enough. This pansy needs a good old fashion ass whupping to humble his ass and have him grow the fuck up. Hes acting like a rich teenage girl on My Super Sweet 16 who doesnt get the car she wanted

Posted By: Guest#0298 (Guest)  on December 08, 2008 at 10:04 PM

(If we stop giving him attention, maybe he'll go away.)

The dude from the first comment....
Youre a cold heartless fuckin prick!!! Though Kanye may be diva'ish like. No one deserves such a cursing like you did regarding a death of family member. Especially someones mother. Youre the real pretentious Asshole!!!

Kanye is a winy bitch! all he does is try to act cool all the time, he is immensely talented but the ego will prevent him for being top notch to me. just another ni**er

"i think kanye is a musical genius. however, i think the celebrity has gone to his head. if he is not careful he could find himself in a britney spears type limbo."
______________

I dunno if I'd say "genius," but he's definitely got a ton of talent and it's unfortunate that he often overshadows it with his immaturity. He's a product of the whole self-obsessed youtube/myspace/blogger generation (that I'm sad to say I'm a part of) that's more concerned with being famous than being an artist. He already produces so many hits, it seems almost effortless - imagine what he could produce If he'd quit worrying about his image and just concentrate on his work.

I went to the concert.
He did not "storm" off stage.
And his 10 minute long "rant" was actually one of the most eye-opening and touching moments of the concert. the man poured out his heart, good to see his human side.

And as for being annoyed at not having his outfit, fair enough. he is a showman afterall. An extremely giften one at that.

don't you see...he is a genius
he is portraying everything we hate.

he is young, too rich, cocky, arrogant. he gets good press for his music, bad press for his attitude, yet he still sells out concerts and is a multi-platinum recording artist.

if it's working for him, why change. isn't this the typical successful male of our century. men have huge egos, some shows it more than others.

i truly think he uses his ego to suppress all his emotions from his past, mother's death, break-up and whatever is going on his life.

wow, i just realized, he is the rich version of me.
