In a previous story.... Which I tried to link to, I am curious as to how Bon Jovi lost 30 million in the course of the year.

Perez Hilton is far from a reliable source!

That's odd, I thought Kanye West said he was "the voice of our generation". You would think that someone that big would, I don't know, crack the top ten?

Good News Kanye, it looks like you don't have nearly as many fans as you thought you did. I guess now you can "work out for 2 months and then pose naked"

Arrogant prick! Suck it.

How did a woman who didn't do anything this year except not justifying her stardom made so much money. who the hell actually likes her.

How the **** did Madonna make 400+ million? Thats 300 more than the next closest person. That makes absolutely no sense.

Diavo,

Kenny Chesney is a singer the country music genre. He has 30 top 10 songs on the country music charts in his career and has 4th consecutive ACM Entertainer of the Year awards.

He has a huge fan base and he usually sells out concerts as result. That is why has he has the 3rd highest rank on Highest Earning Musicians.

I don't know what people see in his music though and this is a person who listens to different genres of music including country music.

Good, The Eagles beat out Coldplay.

Good for actual music to beat out repetitive bullshit.

I'm the idiot? I'm well aware of what this list is.
Madonna didn't do anything in 2008, Jonas brothers are aiming for a younger audience and Celine Dion does las vegas shows.

it's unbelievable that some of these people can beat artists like Beyonce or Taylor Swift.

"The boss did good considering he didnt release any new material last year."

But he did release Magic in late 2007 and he spent much of 08 touring for it, and a Springsteen w/ E Street Band tour still packs 'em in.

What's ridiculous to me is that the old-timers like Springsteen, The Eagles and AC/DC can obviously still sell records, yet any new work that older bands put out gets virtually no radio airplay. I know rock radio stations aren't the big money-makers they used to be, but the continued popularity of veteran bands and the huge success of Guitar Hero should show that there is still a solid market for it. Oh well, at least iTunes makes finding new stuff by the old folks a lot easier.

"Jonas brothers are aiming for a younger audience and Celine Dion does las vegas shows."

Younger audience or not, the Jonas Bros. are hugely popular right now, thanks largely to the marketing folks at Disney. They were playing at big arenas and were bound to be selling them out especially with the younger kiddos dragging parents along to the shows.

And Celine Deon may be doing Vegas shows, but she was touring as well. She just did a concert at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, so if she is still doing arena shows, she's still making big bucks. Why she is still such a big deal I'm not sure, but there are people with much less talent who are also popular, so good for her, I guess...
