Long awaited album gets title, release date and more details inside...
Gomez has revealed details of its new album, A New Tide. The set hits stores March 31st and is the first studio album from the group since 2006's How We Operate. Last October marked the tenth anniversary of the release of Bring It On, their Mercury Music Prize winning debut.
Gomez is calling the album a return to its more experimental roots. Tracks include "Win Park Slope" and "Airstream Driver". Guest spots include vocalist Amy Milan (of Stars/Broken Social Scene fame), bassist Josh Abrams (The Roots, Sam Prekop, Godspeed You Black Emperor!), cellist Oliver Krauss (David Gray, Paul Weller, Beth Orton), and multi-instrumentalist Stuart Bogie of Brooklyn's world renowned Antibalas Afrobeat Orchestra.
The album was recorded seperately at first, as band members are scattered across the US and UK. Gomez finally convened in Charlottesville, Virginia to finish it up.
