[CORRECTION] Chris Brown Withdraws Kid's Choice Awards Nominations
Posted by Mitch Michaels on 03.12.2009

Yesterday we reported that Nickelodeon had revoked Chris Brown's two Kid's Choice Awards. It turns out that it was Brown who withdrew the nominations, not the network or the awards committee.

Brown had been nominated for Favorite Song ("Kiss Kiss") and Favorite Male Singer.

"Unfortunately, the controversy surrounding the incident last month has shifted the focus from the music to whether he should be allowed to be among those nominated," said a spokesman. "While Chris would like to speak to his fans directly about this and other issues, pending legal proceedings preclude his doing so at this time. Once the matter before him has been resolved, he intends to do so."

Nickelodeon issued their own statement to confirm: "We agree with and respect his decision, and are looking forward to presenting a great event for our audience."

The Kids' Choice Awards will be handed out on March 28 in Los Angeles.

anyone who hits a woman has no right even walking around anywhere. It might have been a classy move to remove himself, but Brown has no class.

I hate rihanna's music, but no woman deserves to get beat up!

Ok, I am so over this whole issue. Who gives a damn what he did? There is SOOO much domestic violence in America, why do two people have to flood our news with their little episode? It has been blown WAY WAY out of proportion. Why don't I hear about local domestic violence stuff for WEEKS ON END? Because stupid Hollywood is what it is. It's ridiculous.
