New Kid Rock Album On The Way
Posted by Ben Czajkowski on 03.16.2009
Follow up to Rock N Roll Jesus coming quite soon.
Kid Rock scrapped plans to tour this spring. Why would an artist who is still selling thousands of CDs weekly do this?
Because he is currently in studio working on a new album. Sounds like good enough reason to me.
Rock said, recently, "I really feel like I've kind of got this figured out. I think I can make an equally good record, if not better than the last one -- which is once again putting quite a weight on your shoulders. But I do like the pressure."
"Obviously I had a great year in 2008," Rock says, "one of my best since (1999's Devil Without a Cause album) -- maybe even better considering the times we're in. We're at a point where you do something and then it's forgotten, and I'll have to prove myself again, and that's just incredible. People need to be reminded sometimes, and sometimes being humble doesn't do that so well."
According to Kid Rock's website, T.I. stopped by last week, to the studio. Could it be plausible that he might lay down some vocals?
This album will follow-up to 2007's double-platinum album Rock N Roll Jesus, which is still selling quite well and should be finished before the summer tour. It will, hopefully, be on shelves sometime in the fall.
Awesome news, I was just listening to Rock N Roll Jesus again this morning! I think it's his best album since Cocky. After the self-titled Kid Rock's way too heavy country-leaning, Rock N Roll Jesus was like,"That's more like it!"
