Perry drops out of GOP race; endorses Gingrich
Rumor flew around Austin last night that Perry's senior campaign staff had staged an intervention of sorts to make the Texas governor realize that his candidacy stood little chance of a victory in South Carolina. He dropped out this morning and endorsed Newt Gingrich.
Though a few of Perry's top staffers are former Bush Jr. people, the Perry camp has no love for establishment Republicans, in particular Romney and his staff, whom Perry's campaign believes to be arrogant and presumptuous. Accordingly, the Gingrich endorsement should come as no surprise because the conservative GOP candidates are under extreme pressure to coalesce around a single candidate lest they hand the nomination to Romney.
New polls show Romney dropping in South Carolina, with Gingrich (re)surging. Santorum appears to be losing steam. We may have ourselves a horse race, folks.

Thank god. I was sooo afraid of another Texas governor in the presidency. One was enough.

Obama will win and it will NOT be close.

Romney will still win the nomination. Unless Gingrich can convince Santorum to get out quickly, the two will keep splitting the same pool of voters while Romney racks up wins and Ron Paul squeaks into 2nd and 3rd everywhere.

LOL! Gingrich is not an establishment Republican? Gingrich, a conservative? Since when was support for cap and trade and bailouts conservative?

it's 411.... readers think everyone is a racist (mostly because they're so damn stupid they don't know the difference between insensitive and intolerant).
Santorum is the worst of the worst. Listen to him speak. What he wants is basically a Christian version Sharia Law

Because of the state constitution he actually has very little power as governor. He's an asshole and everything but I think he's one of the least of my state's problems.

Perry will be physically submerged into Newt Gingrich's body to give him more power. This newer and stronger version of Newt Gingrich will be a creature of two digestive systems.

I think that it is unfortunate that fast food chains wont offer Americans the same products that are available overseas.

Does it even matter? All the Republican candidates are the same. They base their policies on a 2,000 year old book. People like to claim it was written by an omnipotent, omniscient being. Nevermind the fact that it tells us all about how to sacrifice animals and maintain slaves, but says nothing profound about math, about how to cure cancer, or anything else useful.

JD, you give Texas a lot more credit, at least more than I ever did.

Since heritage foundation came up with it a decade ago. The better question is since when was it a pinko-commie/socialist/Islamist/totalitarian/marxist/hate america/madrassa idea? Kind of like the individual mandate in obamacare.

Troll all you want, but there is never a bad time for a beer summit. I'm about to go to one right now. And if it goes badly, there's always the jack summit, or the Jameson summit. Once you hit the tequila summit, though, you're in trouble. Who let that Jose Cuervo guy across the border?

That was one of the saddest campaigns I've ever seen. I really thought he was going to be the nominee, he had like a 30% lead over Romney back in the day. That's what happens when you treat illegals like human beings, the base don't like that.

So are you ever going to try and debate me with facts, or just keep making ignorant posts under my name?
