Obama Seeks To End America's Sovereignty

International corporations could supersede our laws…
After getting duped by the whole hope and change thing back in 2008, I watched objectively as Barack Obama took office as President. By six months in, the writing was on the wall and I no longer saw the man I had voted for. As strongly as I had felt about his potential, I never lost the ability to analyze his actions rather than only heed his words, which allowed me to see him for the corporatist in progressive's clothing that he is. The man signed NDAA 2012 into law this past New Year's Eve, ending habeus corpus for American citizens. We then learned that the number of civilians being killed by drone strikes based on the President's "kill list" is extremely low only because he labels everyone killed in such strikes as terrorists. He has used The Espionage Act of 1917 more times than all prior administrations combined to threaten journalists with imprisonment based on vague notions of what speech may or may not be labeled as aiding terrorism in a bid to quash dissent. Now leaked documents have revealed his most galling action yet, something that clearly constitutes treason and should result in immediate articles of impeachment being brought against him. The President of The United States wants to strike the final blow against citizen participation in government by handing over ultimate legislative authority to international corporations.
The Orwellian measure for today is called the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade pact. Among other things, this pact would create an international tribunal (has the word "tribunal" EVER been attached to anything good?) to which foreign corporations that operate within the U.S. could appeal American legal and regulatory rulings. In short, instead of Congress and the White House bickering back and forth about regulation on blatantly deceptive banking practices, environmental safety and labor conditions, a group of people unaccountable to us and hand picked by corporate tools would have the authority to set aside U.S. laws and let corporations do pretty much whatever they want, as we see today in swell places like China where workers are free to commit suicide when they can't take it anymore. You know how we're always hearing about economic sanctions on places like Iran and previously Iraq? We would be subject to such sanctions if we dared to let things like human rights get in the way of private profits. All of Washington would do as Obama has for the last 3+ years: step back and say "Golly, I'd love to do right by the American people but all these legal issues make it impossible". Here's what Obama said about this on the campaign trail back in 2008:
"We will not negotiate bilateral trade agreements that stop the government from protecting the environment, food safety, or the health of its citizens; give greater rights to foreign investors than to U.S. investors; require the privatization of our vital public services; or prevent developing country governments from adopting humanitarian licensing policies to improve access to life-saving medications."
If you want to know what this man will do at any point, you need only review what he said back then and expect the opposite. Part of this secret deal Obama wants would allow for lengthy patents that give drug companies monopolies on life-saving medications, driving up prices and thus creating a barrier to access in developing nations. Soon the rest of the world can experience the joy of paying markups for vital healthcare that centers around profits rather than saving lives.
As if all this wasn't enough, if a corporation is unhappy with the laws of one of the eight member nations, that corporation can sue the country in question, with the case heard before the tribunal. This is it folks. Corporations are as tired of the political cycles as we are, and they're ready to do away with any pretense and rule over us directly with people we do not elect whose interests are in no way aligned with ours. Instead of lobbyists being sent to Washington to tell our government what laws to pass, the lobbyists would simply be placed on the tribunal as judges. This is all possible because Barack Obama wants it to happen. The negotiations have been going on for over two years, and Mitt Romney wants the deal finalized as soon as possible. This is great news for those of you who think we have too much regulation in our laws and too little lead in our toothpaste. It's also great for those who are tired of gridlock, since Congress will be rendered powerless on most issues. For those who object to the end of American sovereignty, I suggest you forget Obama and call your bank, since that's where all our decisions will be made for us. It took about 175 years for America to become the most powerful economic force in history, and it's taking far less time to tear it all down and sell the pieces to private enterprise for pennies on the dollar. I've heard Obama called a socialist so many times, and that has become more outlandish with every day gone by. It is now clear beyond all doubt that he is a fascist, bent on helping people like Jamie Dimon conquer us.
