Ron Paul Gets Screwed By FOX News
Posted by Ashish on 01.07.2008

Ron Paul really got screwed by FOX News last night. They did not allow Ron Paul on. Why? They refuse to comment. They just didn't want him on. I'm not one of the many diehard Ron Paul internet fans, but fair is fair, and this wasn't fair. FOX News allowed Fred Thompson on the debate even though Paul, according to polls, has nearly TEN TIMES the support of Thompson in New Hampshire. They let Rudy Giuliani on the debate even though Paul finished higher than him in Iowa. I'm not saying he should have been on in place of either of those guys, but to not have him on at all really shows how agenda-driven FOX News is.

I think it's pretty clear that FOX didn't want Paul on because he is the only Republican pushing the anti-war message and FOX, I think, doesn't want that message to spread too much on their network. It's too bad that this type of bias is so blatently obvious these days. Say what you want about Ron Paul, but the guy drew 10% of the vote in Iowa and is polling at 10% in New Hampshire and deserved to be on the debate. This is a very clear example of how corporations and the media far too much influence over who ultimately will become President.

Lest we forget O'reilley is an idiot? He dismissed Ron Paul's lack of invitation
due to the fact that a certain show had only so much time on air and only so
much time for questions. His explaination was that certain
[rigged]"polls" put him at a lower place of interest for television
time. I really wish there was some rule in the campaign laws that for network
television-sponsored shows give equal time to all registered candidates.

Faux News has aired its last episode in my home. They are in the court of the
neo-conservatives and anyone who espouses a different viewpoint is, well...
shunned. So much for "fair & balanced" - but we knew that
already, right?

What the Ron Paul is doing is demonstrating, in spades, how the traditional
"Mainstream Media," (Fox, etc.) is slowly disintegratring -- and the
new media (which is decentralized, not controlled by gov't and big
corporations, interactive) is growing. Newspapers have seen their circulation
decline. The big networks are losing their influence. Ron Paul, because he
advocates decentralization, local control, and open-ness in gov't. is riding
the crest of this wave. The decline in the stock price of Fox reflects this
broad trend, but it's exacerbated by the stupid policies of Murdoch -- and his
use of Fox as a propagandistic vehicle for neocon views.

Also worth considering: Many of the independent financial newsletters --
particularly the gold-oriented or hard-money newsletters -- are supporters of
Ron Paul. They're not going to be recommending Fox's stock in their newsletters
-- and if anything they'll be trashing it.

Why would anyone buy stock in a “News” organization that seems so intent to
lose whatever credibility that it might have had? If I had stock in Fox, I’d
sell it to. If I were a speculator, I’d short the stock. If I were an
advertiser, I’d put my dollars elsewhere. As far as I'm concerned Fox News is
now the enemy.

For a great satire on the president, the mainstream media, and the war on
terror, see this YouTube music video from the international award-winning
zombie musical feature film, “Song of the Dead.” It’ stars horror movie veteran
Reggie Bannister (Phantasm, Wishmaster, Bubba Ho-tep) as the president of the
U.S. The filmmaker, Chip Gubera, is giving a share of his profits from DVD
sales to the Ron Paul campaign. Go to:

I think this article should be marked as an opinion piece instead of a news
article, which is how it looked when I clicked it. Even though I agree with
what you said, I don't think it's fair for you to make these statements without
clarifying that they are that of the author.

Fox DOESN'T report, I'VE decided. There is better invesigative journalism in
the comedy shows, and more truth in print in fiction novels such as
"1984" and "Brave New World". Fox and NBC have turned into
only entertainment these days, something to laugh at. CNN Wolf Blitzer is
pretty fair. The only channel to see news on TV is PBS, and I can get that on
the internet. Bye Bye TV subscriptions, along with the marketing, and
propaganda.

When you're filling your car with $3 gas and buying some $2.65 a dozen eggs,
remember who is running on stopping deficit spending. The war for oil is what
caused prices for anything that eats grain to skyrocket. When THOSE prices
rise, the fresh fruit seller raises his prices again, now you have some nice $5
a pound grapes in the market. Laugh all you want, it's YOUR money being spent.
YOU'RE the one going to pay $250 a week for groceries. Still think Ron Paul
sounds like a bad idea? He's the ONLY candidate, Republican or Democrat that is
running on reducing your cost of living. Maybe you have plenty money. Me, I'm
not so rich.

Why,of course...Ron Paul makes too much sense to be aired on Fox News!!!! They
just want the same old s**t from the typical republican elite that has done the
country soooo much good over the past nearly eight years!!Cut taxes more for the
rich, keep throwing money at Iraq(by the way,our brave men and women in uniform
have done more than their share!! It's past time these people learn to get
along and take care of themselves!!!),and don't worry...our "economy is as
strong as ever!!" Give me a damn break!!!!

I'm not going to say that Ron Paul didn't get the shaft from Fox. He did. I am
going to say that I'm a little scared by how seriously people are taking a
candidate that things America's sovereignty is being threatened by a potential
union between the US, Canada, and Mexico. That's crazy talk.

I get that he's running on a pretty strong anti-war platform, but there's got
to be more to a candidate that any one issue.

Good on Leno for giving Paul some air time, in the end he probably got his
message out in a much stronger, much more meaningful way in that interview then
in any Fox News debate.

I got the name of every single company who had any "air time" during
the "fox debate". I then took about 2 hours writing to each one of
the companys and putting it on the line. YOU want my dollars? Or the dollars
of my family? THEN tell FOX locking out the one person who may just turn this
nation on it's way into the biggest ship wreck of the centry around needs to
STOP.

Someone must have heard as the next time they had a debate Ron Paul was let on.
AND that McCain is a ass. Sorry for his butt somehow when he was held as a POW
something went sucker in his mind. He is just a product of the
"machine".

I for one hope that more people take note of just how much the name RON PAUL is
not spoken on ANY of the networks. They talk about the whole thing like he is
not a part of it.

IF by some slim chance then the day of NOV 2 comes and there is not a box with
his name on the ballot then a huge amount of people will just be writing him
in. That you can take to the bank. (For all the good a bank will do you with
how that system got messed up)IS anyone hearing what Ron Paul is saying? This
is not a silly man, he has done his homework and he is in complete
understanding of just what is "wrong" with our dollar.

OH and I know that many people will not even read this. BUT it is still worth
writing..

The shrub in the White House has pulled his head out of a bag and said he wants
a "tax refund" across the board for all who have a tax return. The
amount of money the talking head said he would put out for all americans is
less then we spend in ONE Week on the war (note the war we made).

Come on people wake up.. YOU have heard of smoke and and fire right? Wake up
see what is really going on. Fox is just one small part of it. The rich
people are so fearful that they will loose their "stocks" and savings
if Ron Paul does make the changes he is trying to get people to see need to be
made.
