Clinton Has Slight Lead In Texas

Texas doesn't look like sure fire firewall...
IVR has a new poll out of Texas and the numbers aren't particularly good for Hillary Clinton. The poll has her up in Texas, 49% to 41% (Insider Advantage also has a new poll out showing an almost identical result). Considering that Clinton's campaign now rests on Texas, an 8 point lead with three weeks to go isn't exactly a firewall. Obama has yet to begin campaigning in Texas and could very easily make that deficit up. A loss in Texas would more or less crush Clinton's campaign. According to the poll, Clinton gets 63% of the Hispanic vote while Obama gets 65% of the African American vote. That is a key number because Obama has gotten over 80% of the African American vote virtually every where. If he does that in Texas, the race will be much tighter. But as thought, Obama's main area of weakness remains Hispanic voters.
