Obama Ties Biggest Lead Ever In Gallup Tracking Poll
Posted by Ashish on 03.28.2008

If anyone else needed further proof that Barack Obama has gotten past the Wright controversy with little to no negative impact, take a look at the latest Gallup daily tracking poll.

Obama has tied his biggest lead ever in the poll (he led 50-42 from February 28th to March 1st as well). We may also now be seeing the effects of Clinton's Bosnia-flap. And even Rasmussen's daily tracking poll, which I don't use because of reliability issues, now has Obama leading after being the only poll to show a Clinton lead the last few days. It'll be interesting to see if Clinton continues to fall tomorrow or if 42% will once again be her low point. As I said yesterday, Obama moving above 50% with Clinton moving below 40% would be a big boost for him in terms of perception.

It hurt him, but really he was smoking her before that, then she took the lead
for a few days, and now things are back to normal. She is on her way out.

I actually think the Wright Contraversy *helped* Obama. He gave a great speech
and took advantage of an opportunity to show the country how sharp he really
is. Rather than taking the obvious route and transparently
"disowning" Wright, he instead challenged America to be smarter than
we have been about race, and that was refreshing to hear. It really helped show
how, at least from a "perceived integrity" standpoint, he is very,
very different than the Commander in Chief we have come to know and distrust
over the past 5 years.

Unlike most of the democrats, who cower like frightened little children all the
time when something is being used against them, Obama stood up and took the
attacks head-on, and he won. I wish all Democrats had guts like that.

People are tiring of Clinton. 90% of real Democrats want her to drop out. What
have you done for us lately, Hillary?

Obama turned a typical Republican dirty tactic in Wright into a chance to wisen
us all up. It's why he's so great.

Senator Obama has run a magnificent campaign, against the Clinton money,
machine, and negative politics and handicapped by his name, ethnicity, and
class (teen single parent, etc). Hillary's failed campaign, like her health
care plan in the 1990s, her marriage, and her outrageous lies on experience
(sniper fire, etc), show she will be a dangerous commander-in-chief, who cannot
tell the difference between fantasy and reality. Like George W. Bush. Except
that in character, Hillary is Lady Macbeth on steroids.
