It Begins -- High Profile Clinton Supporter Switches To Obama
Posted by Ashish on 05.07.2008

George McGovern has switched his support from Hillary Clinton to Barack Obama and called on Clinton to withdraw from the race this morning. Again, I don't think Clinton will quit yet. I think we'll see the race go on until June 3rd, but it's basically over and Clinton has now been regulated to the Mike Huckabee role by the media. She'll win West Virginia and Kentucky, but she doesn't have a path to the nomination. The superdelegate floodgates, if they don't open now, will open after May 20th when Obama clinches the majority of pledged delegates.

Meanwhile, the Clinton campaign also came forward with details on how much money Clinton has loaned her campaign. The official numbers -- she loaned herself $5 million on April 11th, $1 million on May 1st, and $425,000 on May 5th. And let's remember that she already gave her campaign $5 million back in March. These are VERY telling numbers because she has given herself nearly $1.5 million since she won Pennsylvania when the campaign claimed that they had money flooding in. Obviously that wasn't the case. She has now sunk $11.4 million in her campaign. You have to wonder how much more she is willing to put in. You also have to wonder if, with so much campaign debt, her main motivation to stay in right now may be to raise enough in donations to get her out of debt, because if she doesn't, she won't get all that money back.

Fellow Americans, why don't we take off the ideological and dogmatic sunglasses
for a moment and realize that this is just a Big-Business GAME for the
Clintons? Loaning herself millions to seek to become our President? What is
this thing all about? A business venture with the regular profit motive?
Shouldn't our politicians and government leaders first and foremost duty be to
serve our country's development aspirations? Shouldn't Hillary and company be
asking what they can do for their country rather than what they can do for
themselves from their lofty and treasured white House perches? Jesus!!! We are
in trouble in this country with the likes of the Clintons. God Bless America.

North Carolina Democratic State Party Chairman Jerry Meek also jumped on the
bandwagon today as well. Not like that was unexpected for him to vote the same
way as his state.
