Stephanopoulos Says Clinton Would Accept VP Spot
Posted by Ashish on 05.07.2008

Former Clinton White House adviser George Stephanopoulos said during ABC's Nightly News that Clinton would accept the Vice Presidential spot on Obama's ticket if offered.
CHARLES GIBSON: Is there any discussion of what kind of an exit strategy there would be?

GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS: There are various exit strategies right now. Number one would be, go out on a win. So, stay in until West Virginia, where Sen. Clinton is likely the winner, and Kentucky on May 20, and after that, bow out. Two, negotiate for the imposition of Michigan and Florida, to get those delegations seated, declare victory on that, and get out. But the big one, Charlie — and this is what some people close to the Clintons are talking about: Is there a way to negotiate a settlement with Barack Obama to have Sen. Clinton on the ticket?

CHARLES GIBSON: And what do they think?

GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS: It's hard to know. I mean, first of all, would Sen. Obama go for it? Can he get over the bitterness of this campaign? Can he be convinced that it's the strongest ticket? Third, of course, would Sen. Clinton take it? I think if it was offered in the right way, yes.
She may accept it if offered, but he'll probably never offer it.

I sincerely hope he doesn't offer it to her. She comes with too much baggage.

I agree. He shouldn't want her. They operate quite differently. He couldn't
trust her from here to the backdoor. She has a distincitive style (lying,
race-baiting, transparent insincere moves, etc.) She should not want to be his
VP, but should have her own operation Senator, or Governor.

And in other news, my advisor has made it known that if offered $1,000 I would
gladly take it.

Obama promised change in Washington. Hillary Clinton represents an impediment to
change. She stands for the same old dirty politics that Obama abhors. She stands
for subtle and not so subtle racism in politics. She is an admitted liar like
George W. Bush. She relished the right-wing conspiracy against Barack and
advised him to get out of the kitchen if he could not bear the heat. She
obviously thinks that the White House is her private preserve and inheritance;
such thinking is highly un-American. She has admitted over and over again that
this thing is "very personal." She therefore admits that her drive to
be President is not about America's development, but rather, about her own
private whims and fancies. She has made it clear that Senator McCain, the
Republican nominee is "better prepared" than Obama to be President.
Last but not least, she is adamant that Obama is not prepared to be President
of the United States of America. WHAT the hell are we doing with this woman on
Obama's vice-presidential ticket? Are we such morons in America? I'm not!
