McCain/Bush Ties Working

Big chunk of the country now viewing McCain as continuation of Bush...
Gallup has a new study out that shows that 68% of America is either "very concerned" or "somewhat concerned" that John McCain would pursue policies as president that are too similar to what George W. Bush has pursued. This is the clearest evidence we've gotten so far that the Obama/Democratic strategy against him, which is to tie him to Bush, is working. McCain is a guy who was viewed as a maverick a few years back, but clearly that image is fading. The dangerous number here is among Independents. 67% say McCain would pursue policies as president that are too similar to Bush. Even 45% of Republicans say they are "very concerned" or "somewhat concerned" about this.
The poll also asks if people are concerned that Obama will bring too much chance, and 49% say they are "very concerned" or "somewhat concerned" that he will. The "too much change isn't good" angle isn't something McCain has played up but may be worth trying based on these numbers.
