McCain Goes Negative

It's July and we have our first attack ad...
John McCain isn't wasting time going negative. It's only July but he is already up with a contrast ad in Nevada and New Mexico. The Spanish ad says Obama "just discovered the importance of the Hispanic vote" while McCain "has stood for our community even in the most difficult of times" and "shares our same conservative values and faith in God."
Obama is pulling roughly 60% of the Hispanic vote nationwide, so it's a weak area for McCain and not surprising that he is already going negative. The Hispanic vote is going to decide key swing states like New Mexico and Neveda. The big question is, is it smart to go negative so early when voters are still deciding whether they like or dislike the candidate? We'll see. The ad is below.
I fail to see how drawing a contrast between your record and that of your opponent is "going negative" or an "attack ad". Heaven forbid you mention the guy you're running against in your ad.

I swear Connolly, you are either not that bright or just blindly post anything to support McCain. If an ad focuses on a NEGATIVE THING about your opponent, its a NEGATIVE AD and means you are going NEGATIVE. The main point of this ad is to say something negative about Obama, thus making it a NEGATIVE ad. Ashish isn't even saying there is anything wrong with it, he is just saying it is a NEGATIVE ad which it is. Are you like 15 or something? Do you really not understand such basic stuff?

Guest#8845, just ignore Connolly. It's well known here that he doesn't know much and just rattles off talking points. Though I admit that him not knowing what going negative means surprises even me.
