New Polls 10.04.08: ME, PA, National
Posted by Ashish on 10.04.2008

Few new polls today...

-- The national daily tracking polls show Obama continuing to expand his lead. These numbers now include responses done after Thursday's VP debate, indicating that, at best, McCain got no bounce out of the debate, and at worst, Obama got a slight bounce from it. Obama's average of these four tracking polls is now over 50%.

* Gallup - Obama 50%, McCain 42%
* Diageo - Obama 48%, McCain 41%
* Rasmussen - Obama 51%, McCain 45%
* Research 2000 - Obama 52%, McCain 40%

-- In Pennsylvania, Morning Call has Obama opening up his biggest lead ever, 51% to 39%. This is another poll that includes some responses from after the VP debate, further confirming that, if anything, Obama got a slight bounce out of the debate, not McCain.

-- And in Maine, Rasmussen has Obama ahead, 51% to 46%. The McCain campaign is teasing that they might try to go after one of Maine's electoral votes (Maine splits their electoral votes). Of course, at this point, McCain will need a lot more than one Maine electoral vote to get this race close again, but it's not a bad idea to do this as a way of avoiding a 269-269 tie. Obama is doing the same thing in Nebraska.

Maybe Biden's constant references to communities in PA during the VP debate, helped Pennsylvanians identify with Biden and the Democratic ticket?

Keep believing those polls, we'll see if America is ready to make a black man President once the voting curtains are closed.

And you keep talking like that and well see if the American People are as stupid as you are and you think they are.

The big difference between the two sides: Obama's supporters are voting for a candidate, McCain's are voting against a candidate.

I have spoken to many McCain "supporters" and almost always can't say what they like about him or his policies. They usually say they can't vote for Obama, though when pressed they can't identify a single reason or issue.

If Obama were caucasion this race would have been over already. He is more intelligent, more articulate, more measured in his thinking, would make a better inspirational leader within this country and a better representative to the rest of the world. Most importantly, he is on the right side of almost every important issue.

Sen. Obama is a very traditional, moderate politician. He may be unusual in that he is more intelligent, sincere and moral that most. The only thing "nontraditional" about him is his ethnic background. I hope that Americans are seeing that.... We need to put moderate "grownups" like Obama and Biden back in charge, after eight years of neocon extremists.

There will be a reverse "Bradley effect". White people who would never confess it are going to vote for Obama.

logic and awareness of the cause of this financial disaster can only lead to vote for Senator Obama

Are Americans ready for a govt to tell them whether or not it will allow treatment for them for a medical condition, like Canada?! Americans need to wake up to the effects of more govt ran programs and how that "change" will really affect their lives. I would hate to get a serious illness that Obama's govt says I can't get treatment cuz it costs the govt too much or takes his govt too long to decide about treatment. It is not about his race (I would vote for Colin Powell), it is about his extreme liberal views and ideals, not to mention the crowd he hangs with.

Obama lacks the neccessary intelligence to form a coherent statement without a prompter. Zero lifetime accomplishments, hating this country and white for 20+ yrs and assocatiating with the worst people brainwashing society. Seriously, has this guy ever told the truth in his life. And a black will not lead this country, the 15 pt IQ gap and the historical lack of leaderships by blacks around the world make the Obama prospect way too risky. Listen to him talk - uh, uh, uh,uh - how can a guy this dumb and this uneducated actually have a nomination. I will tell you - accorn, voter fraud, thugery tactics, political machines, dishonest media, buying votes and race baiting other blacks to vote for him with an uneducated opinion.
