Video of beating at Prop. 8 Rally

Because you demanded it
For those of you who were miffed that I didn't include video proof of what I was saying in my last post on Prop. 8, here's your proof.
Because I post from work, I can't always hunt down pertinent links for you. If you don't get one right away, be patient. I'll try to get to it. Or...you could always look yourself. The internet is a fabulous tool for finding things besides pornography.
By the way, I have to report that I am slowly turning against the protesters. Not because I have suddenly decided to stop supporting equal rights. It's because they ruined my commute yesterday.
Have all the protests you want, just don't screw with my commute. This is LA. It's bad enough already.
The term "beating" is used here to describe the using of a departmental issued baton in order to gain the compliance of an uncooperative party. What is not described here is the resisting the protester was doing. once the resisting stopped the strikes to the protesters lower body(no vital areas such as head etc.) stopped and the protester was hand cuffed. And also what is not described here is the actions of the individual protester that led to this person to be arrested while no one else was. Do you honestly believe that a police officer would go into a hostile crowd and pick an individual at random and decide "ok he's going"? Thats just silly. if he risked possible injury to get this guy there was a good reason, but as always all that is shown is the reaction of the police that looked like, in this context, unprovoked. I assure it was not. And Mr. Schilling even if your last point about your commute was in jest that statement harms your stance on this topic. you come off as a "Fu** you, hooray for me" type person.
PS. in case you're wondering I DO support gay marriage.

Living in LA myself I feel your pain on the commute. I was all for supporting these homos some time ago, but much like these protests, they've once again taken it too far. I changed my stance to Yes on Prop 8 after I found out they wanted to prosecute pastors who wouldn't marry them. Now they protest in the streets endangering lives believing they're above and immune to the law. Once again they spilled out of their designated protest zones and caused more trouble. Here's hoping the cops crack a few more skulls till they get the point.

But they didn't want to prosecute pastors who refused to marry them that's a lie!!
A blatant lie among the many spread by the yes to Prop 8 crowd.
So to sum up you're ok with protest as long as it doesn't inconvenience you and is keep out of the way. That's not a very effectual way to protest. Remember hearing about the Boston Tea Party?
