Shane Mosley responds to supposed remarks from the Margarito camp.
Sugar Shane Mosley has always been a quiet guy inside and outside of the ring. However with statements circulating around that Margarito supposedly said Mosley "peed his pants in fear" when approached about a matchup between the two, the former three-division champ has fired back.
In response, Mosley, who continues enjoying his last second knockout against Ricardo Mayorga last September 27 has asked both Margarito and his promoter to tell him where to sign, noting he's ready to fight in January 2009.
"If I do remember correctly, after my fight with Ricardo Mayorga, I expressed that I was ready and willing to fight anyone including Antonio Margarito and I'll say it again, anytime, anyplace, anywhere!" proclaimed Mosley.
"I don't believe those are comments coming from Margarito himself, but actually from his promoter Bob Arum regarding me hiding and being scared but if that is the case (of Margarito making the comment) then I would say that it is he who is scared, otherwise he would've signed the contract."
Mosley who has faced some of the best of his era, indicated that with Golden Boy Promotions, he was ready to expedite negotiations to face Margarito and end all these speculations.
"I have faced the best in the lightweight, welterweight and junior middleweight division and have achieved more in my career than Antonio Margarito. Therefore, he needs me more than I need him, but like a pro, I'm willing to make the fight and give our fans the types of fights they want to see in 2009."
"I am ready to go and I'm just waiting to get the green light from Margarito and Arum to begin promoting the fight. If they don't call, then the fight doesn't interest them. and it will be someone else who's hiding and peeing in their pants of fear," said the Pomona, CA native.
